Okay, that time is drawing near where egg nog is served. So what do you think of it? I used to love it when I was a kid but as I've gotten older I try to avoid it.

I try to avoid it now as well, not because I don't like it, but because I'm already big enough as it is. I'll drink a couple of quarts of it over the whole holiday season. I used to get 2 or 3 quarts of it each week.

How do you make egg nog? Is it just milk and raw eggs?

Its actually similar to making ice cream. I can't remember the recipe, but there is a show called "good eats" which has an entire episode dedicated to it. Its on youtube.
I personally adore eggnog, especially if you put a little maker's mark or knob creek in the glass. Of course, southern comfort works just as well, and I know some people that prefer jack daniels. I think I might see how scotch tastes in it this year.

Yep, put some Jack in that stuff. MMM.
Its good without as well, but for me its just a holiday drink. I don't drink it any other time.

I've never liked it. I used to refuse to touch it at all! Now I'll drink a little bit if it has a lot of nutmeg and cinnamon in it, but only then, and only if there's nothing better to drink around. A lot of my friends love it, especially with rum in it.

Rum seems to make it to sweet, so whiskey is better, like that Jack.

It is certainly a once a year thing but I kno people who drink it most of the year. I guess they make it because the stores don't always sell it

I have never liked it. I've tried it several times, and with rum in it because I love rum but I still can't stand the taste of it.
